I am...

Hiatus...

Not from learning, growing, and teaching, but I have been out of commission on blogging.

Life is such a rich, unbelievable journey. I am so thankful for all my relationships and experiences, for they have brought me to where I am.

I have spent a lot of time continuing to give, but also to step back and learn. I find myself at a new place as a wife, mother, teacher, and friend.

I am finding myself more true to who I am from the very beginning, and it's amazing.

I know I am doing the work I was intended and created to do. It is a passion that runs through my veins.

Today I found a blog. Read a wonderful article that has sparked some new energy for my classroom, but more than that, gave me 8 words that I truly hang my hat on.

"I am because of who we are together." That's it.

This is a message that I want to live and teach full force. That's what it's all about: connecting with others and recognizing that we are who we are, because of one another.

To bring that around to reading: It is a research based way to connect and understand one another. It's a way to develop authentic empathy and openness to one another.

We can get our kids to read, and we SHOULD.
